Managing Groundwater near sensitive Waterways

Written by Prime Fluid Management | 21 August 2024

When it comes to laying pipes below the water table at a beachside location, fluctuating groundwater levels can pose significant challenges. Recently, we had the opportunity to assist a customer in overcoming just such a situation, ensuring their project stayed on track despite the tricky conditions.

The Challenge:

Beachside project sitedirectly influenced by tidal flows.
Maintain dry trenches for safe working conditions. environment.
Effective groundwater management was essential to the work schedule and timely project delivery.

The Solution:

We deployed our BBA PT150 wellpointing pump, a highly efficient piston pump designed for dewatering tasks of this nature. Paired with wellpoint spears, header pipes, and a settling tank, we ensured that silt and other contaminants were filtered out before safely discharging the water. This setup not only kept the trenches dry but also significantly reduced CO2 emissions and operating costs, showcasing the pump's environmental and economic benefits.

The Outcome
:

Our approach was highly effective. As the team leader on-site reported, “It worked amazingly; there was no water in the trenches, and it allowed us to do our job quickly and easily.”

We are proud of the positive feedback from our customer, who added, “Richard is very easy to deal with and has loads of knowledge… They are both fast and effective!”
