Prime settling tank at a water treatment site in New Brighton, Christchurch, NZ

Settling Tanks & Bags

Remove silt, solids and oils from site water before discharge.

Match the tank to the site

Prime’s settling tanks slow site water down so sand, silt and other solids have time to settle before discharge. Choose from standard baffle tanks, hybrid settling tanks and reusable settling bags to suit your flow, solids load and wider treatment setup.

Add oil and hydrocarbon separation where you need to remove floating contaminants.

Straightforward Sediment Control

Standard settling tanks

Standard baffle tanks slow the flow to settle sand, silt and heavier solids during wellpointing, dewatering and general site discharge. They’re a practical choice where you need reliable sediment removal without the added settling media used in a hybrid tank.

  • Sizes from 4–20m3
  • Removable lid for cleaning
  • Oil separator
  • Chemical dosing options

LAMELLA AND BAFFLE PRINCIPLES

Hybrid settling tanks

Hybrid settling tanks combine baffles with lamella-style settling media to improve sediment removal in a compact setup. They suit sites that need more treatment performance than a standard baffle tank – but keep the system modular and easy to deploy.

  • Capacity of 9m3
  • Stackable design
  • Removable lid
  • Outlet ports for cleaning
  • Chemical dosing compatible

HIGH-SOLIDS DEWATERING

Reusable settling bags

Reusable settling bags use gravity and filtration to separate solids from sediment-heavy water. These sludge bags can work individually or in sequence as part of a staged dewatering setup.

  • Gravity-fed filtration without power
  • Reusable bags with frames supplied
  • Connect multiple bags for staged separation

The right option depends on your flow rate, solids load and site setup. Prime can help you choose between a standard settling tank, hybrid settling tank or reusable settling bag.
