Tsurumi Pumps

Submersible pumping solutions for drainage, wastewater and demanding fluid environments.

For Demanding Submersible Duties

Tsurumi’s submersible range spans drainage and dewatering, wastewater and sewage, corrosion-resistant pumping and aeration. Different hydraulic designs, materials and configurations help match the range to demanding operating conditions.

HYDRAULICS AND MATERIALS

Match the Pump to the Duty

Different duties call for different hydraulic and material options.

  • Wastewater & Sewage: Vortex for solids passage, channel for general wastewater, and cutter types where fibrous material creates a blockage risk.
  • Drainage & Dewatering: Portable for standard duties, abrasion-resistant for grit, low-level for residual water and high-head for greater lifts.
  • Corrosion-Resistant: Resin, stainless steel or titanium – chosen around chemistry and chloride exposure.
  • Aeration: Selected around oxygen transfer, tank depth and mixing requirements.

Protection Against Common Failure Points

Tsurumi targets seal lubrication, moisture ingress, abrasion and corrosion through specific design features and material choices.

  • Oil Lifter System: Keeps the mechanical seal lubricated as oil levels drop – helping extend seal life.
  • Anti-Wicking Cable Entry: Helps stop moisture travelling along the cable into the motor.
  • Wear and Material Options: High-chromium iron resists abrasive wear – with resin, stainless steel and titanium options for corrosive environments.

Tsurumi Pumps FAQs

How do I choose between vortex, channel and cutter hydraulics?

Selection depends on the solids, fibres and blockage risk. Vortex designs favour freer solids passage – while cutter and smashing cutter designs reduce fibrous material before it passes through the pump.

Channel hydraulics suit wastewater duties where solids passage is required without cutting.

When should titanium be considered instead of stainless steel?

Titanium is worth considering for seawater and high-chloride environments where conventional stainless steels may be vulnerable to localised corrosion. Final material choice should reflect fluid chemistry and wetted-component compatibility.

Which Tsurumi options suit high-head dewatering?

Tsurumi offers dedicated high-head drainage ranges – including KTZ and LH Series options, with some models extending into extra high-head duties. Selection depends on the required flow, total head and operating conditions.

What does the Tsurumi Oil Lifter System do?

The Oil Lifter supplies lubricating oil to the upper mechanical seal faces as oil levels fall – helping maintain seal lubrication and extend seal life.

Which Tsurumi pumps are suitable for seawater?

Titanium models are designed for seawater and other chloride-rich duties where conventional stainless steel may be vulnerable to localised corrosion.
