With demand surging for energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable solutions on site, customers are increasingly seeking smarter ways to cut emissions and reduce operating costs. At Prime Fluid Management, we’re excited by the innovation coming from BBA Pumps.
In this article, we look at the MPS150E Mobile Power System, which harnesses the energy in flowing water to generate electricity, a true leap in sustainable pumping.
Harnessing Energy with the BBA MPS150E Mobile Power System
Temporary pumping often results in wasted energy as water is simply diverted or removed. BBA Pumps’ MPS150E turns that problem into a solution by recovering this unused energy and converting it into usable electricity, helping reduce environmental impact while powering your site.
How It Works
- Energy Generation: The MPS150E converts the potential and kinetic energy from water flows into mechanical energy via a turbine. A high-efficiency generator then transforms this into electrical energy.
- Test Results: During factory tests with a flow rate of 450 m³/hour, the MPS150E generated up to 7 kWh (25 MJ) of energy.
- Energy Use: The generated energy can be returned to the network, used to charge battery packs, or power electric pumps.
Benefits of the MPS150E
- Mobile & Flexible: Designed for temporary pumping installations, making it versatile in different environments.
- Waste & Sewage Water Compatible: Works efficiently with both clean and waste water.
- Independent Energy Generation: Capable of producing energy regardless of the pumping capacity.
- Environmentally Friendly: Helps reduce waste by generating energy from water flows, supporting sustainable practices.
Coming soon to New Zealand
The MPS150E Mobile Power System are soon to be available in New Zealand. So Keep an eye out in the near future if you're looking to reduce emissions, increase resilience, or harness water energy more effectively.
Harnessing Water Energy
With the BBA MPS150E, BBA Pumps provides a powerful solution for capturing otherwise wasted energy from water flows. This system not only enhances the efficiency of temporary pump installations but also supports a more sustainable and energy-conscious approach to pumping.
